More exciting news! The Friday night's entertainment will feature Mel Dodge, performing on stage with "JANE AUSTEN IS DEAD".
What do you do when your ideal man is Mr Darcy and the only man at the pub seems to be Mr Wickham?…or even worse, Mr Collins? In a world of RSVP, Facebook and drunken sex in disabled toilets is it possible to meet a man on a white horse in well tailored regency attire? "Jane Austen is Dead" is a funny, contemporary and slightly naughty play about the search for love.
"Gleeful giggles of recognition...An amusing evening of light entertainment, presented by a talented performer." - Kryztoff RAW, Adelaide (four stars)
"Mel Dodge adroitly segues between male and female personae in her heart-stringing one-hander." - Indaily, Adelaide
'But Mel Dodge’s Jane Austen is Dead isn’t just for Austen aficionados and it certainly isn’t gender specific. An exploration of the modern dating and mating game, it’s terrific fun. Dodge’s performance is absolutely brilliant. She plays multiple characters, treating the audience to a heap of hilarious insights and a good sprinkling of poignant moments.' - Theatred, Sydney
'Dodge is a consummate and versatile actor with loads of energy.' Dominion Post
